Dave Henrie has
worked in the GIS field for Utah County Government for the last
18 years. He received a BS in Geography from BYU, after which,
he also got his MPA from the same institution. He is currently
working in the IT Department, where he develops applications for
Internet Mapping. Dave has been involved with UGIC for several
years and is currently serving as the UGIC Vice Chair. |

Jessica Kirby is
the GIS Manager for the State of Utah School and Institutional
Trust Lands Administration (SITLA); she has worked with the
agency since 2005. Before joining SITLA she worked as a lead
fieldwork technician and remote sensing analyst on the Southwest
Regional GAP project at Utah State University. She’s also worked
as a backcountry ranger for both the National Forest Service and
the National Park Service. She graduated from Colorado State
University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource
Management and is a certified GIS professional, GISP. She has
received numerous awards for her work in GIS, including being
recognized as an outstanding employee by former Governor John
Huntsman Jr. Her work has been featured in Volume 26 of the
annual ESRI Map Book. Originally from Colorado, she moved to
Utah in 2000 with her husband to pursue his education. Shortly
after seeing the Wasatch Mountains the decision to stay in Utah
was easy; 11 years later Utah is home. She is a mother of two
(ages 1 & 4) and the rescuer of one (11 year old lab). She is
passionate about the outdoors and spends most of her free time
hiking, biking, skiing or discovering new “get away” places to
escape with her family.

Phoebe McNeally is the Director of the DIGIT (Digitally
Integrated Geographic Information Technology) Lab at the
University of Utah. She has a B.S. in Survey Engineering from
the University of Maine at Orono and M.S and Ph.D. degrees from
the University of Utah in Geography. Her research interests
include geographic information science, geographic
visualization, spatial decision support systems, and snow
science. Phoebe has 14 years of GIS experience. |

Ryan Pierce is a
Nebraska native. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska
at Kearney with a degree in Environmental Geography. Upon
graduation, Ryan moved to Kansas to work for the Natural
Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The NRCS is an agency of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture with a congressional mandate
to work with landowners through conservation planning and
assistance to benefit the soil, water, air, plants, and animals
for productive lands and healthy ecosystems. In 2006, Ryan
transferred to the NRCS Utah State Office in Salt Lake City. He
is currently responsible for cartography, Geographic Information
System (GIS) analysis, deploying new GIS and Global Positioning
Systems (GPS) technology, and troubleshooting technical
problems.

Kendra Reyner has worked with ESRI for over 25 years in both the
Denver regional office as well as ESRI Headquarters in Redlands
CA. During this time she has held a number of different
positions, most of them focusing on helping ESRI customer better
understand and profit from their investments in GIS. Kendra is
currently working as an Account Manager supporting clients in

He has 16 years of professional experience. Dr. Salah has been
working at Stanley Consultants for about 5 years. He holds a
Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (GIS Applications) from BYU, M.Sc. in
GIS from Holland and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Cairo,
Egypt. He was a member of the software development team of the
Watershed Modeling System (WMS); i.e. a GIS interface for
hydrologic and hydraulic models. |

Kate has a BS in
Geography from BYU and an MS in Geography from University of
Utah. Her master’s research centered on use of geospatial
technologies in emergency management, and measures of emergency
preparedness. She has worked at Unified Fire Authority/Salt Lake
County Emergency Management since 2005 with responsibility for
network analysis of fire station response times, natural hazard
risk assessment and hazard mitigation planning, and more
recently server administration and web application
configuration. She is a member of the UGIC Education Committee,
has served as a GeoMentor, and participates in the Salt Lake
County GIS Day events. |
